DustEx Research History
2017:
- Released the first Combustible Dust Incident Report, covering only the United States, on a previous website.
- Began laying the foundation for what would become the Dust Safety Science platform.
March 2018:
- DustSafetyScience.com and DustEx Research Limited officially launched.
- Coincided with Dr. Chris Cloney completing his PhD just one week earlier.
- Transitioned a two-year blog (on academic research in dust explosions) into a full platform and business.
- Launched the Global Combustible Dust Incident Database, expanding reports from U.S.-only to global coverage.
2019:
- Created the Global Dust Safety Professionals Platform, connecting service and equipment providers in the combustible dust industry.
- Ran this as a separate site for several years before eventually integrating it into DustSafetyScience.com as the Find a Professional Tool.
2020:
- Hosted the first Global Dust Safety Conference (virtual).
- This became an annual event, with follow-up conferences in 2021, 2023, and 2024.
2022–2024:
- Launched the Dust Safety Journal in July 2022 as an industry-focused magazine.
- Published 11 issues between July 2022 and March 2024.
September 2024:
- Launched the Combustible Dust Training Institute (CDTI), a new initiative aimed at global impact through training.
- Reinforced the company’s mission: One Year. Zero Fatalities. Worldwide.
2025:
- Hosted the first Latin America Dust Safety Conference, a one-day virtual event focused on the LATAM region.
